    Instead of incentivising people to trade old cars for new, why not encourage people to keep their existing cars - they’re designed to last longer than we think, it would save money and reduce waste?

    If the passport application process is clear english then I must be speaking a different language. 'Clear' is not good enough - it all has to be understandable including why cost is so high.

    The 2009 budget claims to be green but is propping up the motor industry at a time when oil is becoming more costly to obtain. It is more rewarding of failure: failure to plan for a post-oil future.

  • Re: road surfacing - loose chippings

    Stop wasting our money resurfacing roads with glue and loose stone chippings. It ends up bumpier than before, is dangerous to cycle and wrecks car paintwork! Do it properly with tarmac or not at all.
